Make the Connection That Makes It Easier
First Step is a program that helps new parents and families connect with other parents and families to create a network to learn about bleeding disorders. First Step offers a context for parents to share their feelings, stories, and questions about children and family life. First Step was created by the National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). First Step teams include people from NHF, chapters, local hemophilia associations, hemophilia treatment centers (HTCs), and parents of children with bleeding disorders.

Get Help in Learning How to Help Others
Wyeth cares about the community and provides support for the First Step program by sponsoring Train the Trainer, an interactive program to prepare mentoring parents involved in First Step. Train the Trainer fosters a collaborative approach to preventive care for children with bleeding disorders. The program teaches critical skills to all members of the First Step team. Train the Trainer sharpens networking, relationship building, and leadership skills, as it builds the foundation for family-to-family support.
Train the Trainer is a program of the National Hemophilia Foundation.
